Psychotherapy

Individual Therapy:

I work with adults, children, and adolescents with a wide range of clinical issues in both long-term and shorter-term modalities. My counseling experience includes co-occurring disorders, harm-reduction, emotional regulation, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, and interpersonal difficulties. I have a particular interest in helping adolescent girls successfully navigate today's crises, such as self-harm, disordered eating, low self-esteem, and body image issues. I utilize techniques from a variety of clinical approaches, including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive, Narrative, and strengths-based models.

The initial 1-3 sessions are a time in which information is gathered and goals are formulated. By the end of the 3rd session, we will determine the best course of treatment.

Couples Counseling:

In my work with couples, I draw upon my background in both attachment and family systems theories to help couples improve communication and increase intimacy as they simultaneously grow as individuals. I work with both same sex and opposite sex couples, as well as those in more alternative lifestyles. When appropriate, I incorporate the Enneagram as a way to help individuals identify their relational style and that of their partner. As a tool of communication, the Enneagram uses a non-judgmental language that provides a short-hand way of identifying strengths and challenges without resorting to blaming and criticizing.

The initial session involves both members of the couple, followed by one individual session for each person. All subsequent sessions will include both members of the couple.

I am not currently on any insurance panels, but I can provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company.
